Good things come to those who wait, and a spike in sales at the luxury riverfront project, Gallery House, which is currently under construction, proves buyers are happy to purchase off-the-plan to achieve the views, location and lifestyle they desire.
Clayfield resident, Jenny Peacock, is one such buyer who, after an exhaustive search to find the perfect apartment, purchased an exclusive ‘Sky Home’ at Brookfield Residential Properties’ premium project on the riverfront in the affluent suburb of Hamilton.
Ms Peacock, who is downsizing from her family home to enjoy the benefits of maintenance-free apartment living, spent six months searching for a newly-built residence that offered the stunning views and luxury lifestyle she craved, without compromising on space.
But when the semi-retired physiotherapist found Gallery House, she changed her plans of moving in immediately to secure the only apartment she could find that ‘ticked all her boxes’.
“At first I looked at built apartments but couldn’t find anywhere that felt like a place to call home,” said Ms Peacock.
“When I discovered Gallery House it had everything I was looking for – exceptional riverfront location, plenty of space and uninterrupted views.
Our apartment is on the 14th level of the second tower with spectacular views of the river and city skyline. It has three-bedrooms and huge balconies so we won’t be sacrificing space for lifestyle – which was a real drawcard for us.
“I changed my mind about wanting to move into somewhere immediately and decided Gallery House was worth the wait.
“I bought off-the-plan and am looking forward to living in my dream apartment with my daughter when construction is complete next year.”
Ms Peacock said she was also attracted to the vibrant atmosphere of the neighbouring Portside Wharf precinct.
“There is so much to do in the area with restaurants, a cinema and shopping just a short walk from where I’ll be living,” she said.
“My daughter and I love walking and cycling along the Brisbane River and look forward to being able to do this from right in front of our apartment.”
Brookfield Residential Properties’ Managing Director Lee Butterworth said over $28 million of apartments had sold in recent months as construction progressed on the landmark, dual-tower project, giving buyers a glimpse of its architectural elegance and distinctive curved facade.
He said purchasing off-the-plan was popular with many buyers – including those looking to take advantage of favourable market conditions, and downsizers planning a future move from the family home.
“Buying off-the-plan has benefits for a range of buyers – including those needing a little extra time to save their deposit, and particularly for downsizers who often plan their move well in advance, giving them the luxury of waiting for the perfect apartment, at the right price,” said Mr Butterworth.
“With recent Core Logic figures reporting Brisbane’s property market is in a growth phase, buyers recognise the advantage of buying now.”
Mr Butterworth said Gallery House epitomised luxury waterfront living and its location embraced the best that cosmopolitan Brisbane had to offer.
“The refined design of these apartments celebrates the Brisbane River by encapsulating its splendour through vast floor-to-ceiling windows that capture the exceptional vistas from almost every room,” he said.
“The apartments have been designed with luxury in mind, defined by clean lines and contemporary finishes, allowing buyers to curate their own dream home.
“The project is predominantly attracting local owner-occupiers, including empty-nesters looking to make the move from a home to an apartment – while still enjoying the luxuries of outdoor living, large open spaces and ample storage.
“The opportunity to secure a generously-sized, riverfront apartment is extremely scarce, making Gallery House an appealing option for high-end buyers looking for an esteemed address to call home.”
Sales in Gallery House have reached more than $172 million, with construction on the first tower now at level six, and tower two reaching level one.
The $271 million Gallery House project features 319 premium apartments and penthouses across two towers with resident-only facilities, including a rooftop sanctuary with infinity pool, lounge and barbeque areas and a podium level garden.
Occupying an absolute riverfront position just six kilometres from the CBD, it has easy access to the CityCat, major arterial roads and motorways, key employment hubs and the Brisbane Airport; and direct access to the shops and restaurants of Portside Wharf.
Gallery House has three apartment ‘Collections’ – City, River and Sky – with two bedroom apartments from $565,000; three bedrooms from $865,000 and four bedrooms from $1,195,000.
