The 108 berth, state-of-the-art marina at Bluewater, Trinity Park will end another year on a high – enjoying higher than usual occupancies throughout the year with 100 per cent confirmed for November and December.

Bluewater marina’s manager, Rick Herschell said there is currently a six month waiting list for vacant marina berths, with added interest by local boat owners to secure a berth for watching the eclipse. Local business owners, Liam and Christine Elliston from Bright Black AV are professionals when it comes to staging events and when marking their own special occasions, apply the same enthusiasm.

“We are really looking forward to the Eclipse and decided it would be best captured on the water. We are going to head out to one of the cays and follow it back in. In so doing we have booked a berth at Bluewater for three days to make an absolute celebration of this once in a lifetime event,” said Liam.

Bluewater’s Marina Manager, Rick Herschell said Eclipse aside, the marina has experienced a great couple of years and with the future marina development now moving in the right direction, our popularity is set to continue. “Really, there has never been a better time to reap the rewards of investing in a marina berth. At the moment we have a number of deals on offer that make it easy and affordable to buy a berth for personal use or as an investment,” he said.

Bluewater Marina gives boat owners the opportunity to rent or purchase a berth using their newly introduced 99 year lease from $129,000. Bluewater Marina was opened in 2007. It is Cairns’ only cyclone-rated, fully secured and managed, freehold marina. It comprises 108 mono and multi-hulled berths in a choice of 10, 12, 15 and 18 metre lengths.

Bluewater Marina is set back from the coast line to offer an unprecedented level of protection against tropical storms. This safety and security feature ranks highly for boat owners and was successfully put to the test during Cyclone Yasi. For more information on the Marina Berths rentals, contact Bluewater’s marina manager, Rick Herschell on tel: 07 4057 5726 or Leigh Martin for sales on 07 4055 6040.

Monday, 16 July, 2012. After three cracker weekends that saw 790 people visit David McCoy Homes’ new display village, this weekend is set to attract another strong crowd with the two-storey, Seashells home opening for the first time on Saturday, 21 July.

David McCoy Homes’ office manager, Margot Berridge says they are delighted with the response and feedback they are receiving to the homes.

“In general, the feedback has been very positive. Most people have loved Lot 4, Lighthouse which is a four bedroom, family home that features its own jetstream spa pool adjoining the master bedroom. Many visitors have also commended the efficient use of space and clever design features for practical living.”

Margot and her team are urging all prospective home buyers to visit the display village which showcases the latest ideas, technology and contemporary furnishings. And for those who have visited already, next weekend’s opening of the two-storey property is reason enough to return.

“We are also running a holiday competition that will close on Sunday, 29 July with the winner drawn by Warren Entsch, our federal member for Leichardt on Wednesday, 1 August at 10am. Everyone who visits the display village in its opening weeks can enter the draw to win a $5,000 holiday of their choice.”

Developed over the past year at a cost of approximately $2 million, David McCoy Homes’ new display village is a significant investment by one builder and is the region’s first multi-home display in more than 10 years.

The village has been created to inspire prospective buyers while targeting a variety of demographics by incorporating three single and one two-story property in three, four and five bedroom configurations.
David McCoy Homes’ colour consultant, Lynn Colahan has also worked hard to give each home its own special character. Using fittings and treatments from David McCoy Homes’ choice of ‘Five Star’, ‘Designer’ and ‘Designer Plus’ fit-outs, Lynn has also used a different, albeit up to the minute, colour palette for each – therefore appealing to and suiting a wide range of prospective buyers.

Lot 4 Lighthouse is a four bedroom home that features elements of purple and olive tones from McCoy’s ‘Five Star’ range. Adjacent to this home is Lot 3, Lighthouse that is decorated using the ‘Designer Plus’ range for a younger, less conservative couple or small family. For the bigger family, Lot 2 (identified by its red door) will have appeal utilising its allotment effectively to offer five bedrooms and a choice of living spaces. Bold hues of red and green make a statement in the furnishings of this home. Finally, Lot 1 Seashells is unusual for a display home, in that it is a two-storey property featuring two separate living spaces and four bedrooms. This home is decorated in neutral and tangerine colour ways.

The one common thread to be seen in all these homes is a well thought out living design complete with home offices, media rooms, spacious kitchens, three way bathrooms and laundries with state-of-the-art technology.

Phil Leahy, National Director – Brookfield Residential Properties, said the opening of the display village is a huge show of confidence in the resurgence of our region’s property market.

Nestled within a tranquil rainforest clad enclave at the base of Earl Hill is Bluewater’s Elysian stage which currently has 26 spacious home sites remaining available for sale from 470 square metres to 6991 square metres.

Mr Leahy said there is significant financial incentives for prospective buyers that are available until the end of July.

The redevelopment of the Maroubra Bay Hotel included 48 high-quality residential apartments on the upper levels, a bar / bistro and retail shops on the ground floor and basement parking. Apartments offer a mix of one, two and three bedrooms, ranging in size from approx 50-120sqm.

The hotel is a three-storey building (circa 1920) that formerly operated as a licensed hotel. As it is located directly opposite Maroubra Beach, much thought was given in the design process to maximise the uninterrupted views. Each apartment features open living areas facing ocean views and northerly sun, with cross ventilation and at least one large enclosed or open balcony or terrace and a car space.

Value: $36 million

Composition: 83 apartments, commerical suites and underground carpark

Stage: Completed April 2005

Designed by celebrated architects Allen Jack + Cottier, Fusion’s aim was to enhance and reinforce the rich, varied character of the Ultimo precinct through use of differing scales and forms.

Located near Broadway Shopping Centre, Central Station, UTS and Sydney University, the development comprises two buildings on a 4383sqm site. Building A is a new mixed-use, seven-storey concrete-framed building containing 83 residential apartments, five ground floor commercial suites and three levels of underground car parking. Building B involved refurbishment of an existing four-storey timber-framed building into 76 new strata title office commercial suites.

The refurbishment involved stripping back existing timber columns and floors, exposing a timber system complete with columns, beams, joists and floorboards.

The two buildings share a common courtyard on the ground floor and there is a 24-hour through-site link.
